Outside of the cave the storm raged, taking out its anger on the earth below. Lightning was followed by loud rolling thunder, and the light show the Gods put on was quite magnificent if you had a safe place to watch it from. Feather wasn't like Amen in the way of trusting human buildings. There was something just unnatural about them that made a shiver run down her spine. The scents were always off and silence always stretched on and on, not to mention the lighting wasn't always very good. Feather much preferred the smell of nature and the open fields and forests, she knew there was always an escape route and she never had to look it out beforehand. A sigh escaped her maw as she once again scratched her sides, trying to rid herself of her winter coat. She wasn't embarrassed by this action as every horse rolled, it was the wiping out on her face that was would prefer not to go over. Her head still smarted from contact.
Feather would blame her foolishness on the weather and how her blood sang. She was naturally a little more high strung then others, and storms made the mare more nervous then usual. They were unpredictable and destructive, she never knew what to expect, especially when the wind started to blow. Stretching her legs out she looked up to Amenhotep and wondered to herself why he didn't relax awhile and sit down. She doubted any predators would be out in the mess that was outside. She knew he was the gentleman type but he must be tired himself as his accent told her that he wasn't from around here and she assumed he travelled great lengths to get here. She noted that he leaned against the wall which did put some ease on the female mind. At least he was resting up against something.
The rain sloshed down steadily, making a waterfall off of the entrance. Luckily for the horses the den was uphill so water rolled down into the clearing instead of coming into their shelter. She assumed her question would stump him but Amenhotep only smiled. He talked about the relationship he had with his brother and the fun they used to have with neighbouring herds. She pondered on stories as she thought them through. The princes really were reckless seeing how they were heir to the thrones. The neighbouring herds could have declared war due to their titles alone. A low whistle escaped her maw as she smirked. If she had been standing she would have nudged his shoulder and winked at him, but a head bob would have to suffice from her laying position. "Oh Amen! You sly dog you. Did your dad ever find out?" A yawn escaped her maw. Feather knew she was young and had a long time to make mistakes and raise hell. He then explained how he was chosen to start up a life here, in Beless.
"WHAT?! That seems harsh! To be asked to leave your family to start your own. I mean, it seems ilke you actually like you family. Thats really not to be taken granted on. Have you found a land to call your own yet?" Feather was ready at one point to scramble to her feet however never made it past the sitting position. Sitting for a moment looking quite comical, she finally calmed down enough to lay down again.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,467,true] | [atrb=background,http://i1226.photobucket.com/albums/ee403/lindseyrichardson1991/Horse%20RPG/Background_zps27afc909.jpg] Amenhotep watched with careful eyes, knowing that anything could be lurking in the storm, especially the monsters of his homeland which were sure to have followed him here. The thought of Apep and Ammitt following him here would only bring problems to the world. He did not need them coming here and following him, causing problems for the natives of this land. He was here to bring a kindness, but bring that also meant bring the problems of his Gods with him. Apep was a snake, he constantly followed Ra around, trying to cause problems for the great Sun God, trying to swallow him up during the day… And then Ammitt, whom was part crocodile, part lion, and part hippopotamus, whom ate the hearts of those who died and were not good during their life time. Ammitt’s own offspring were the crocodiles, the lions, and the hippos, it was never a good thing to come in contact with them.
He glanced over as she scratched her side, trying to rid herself of the loose pelt that was sure to be causing her problems. He noticed that she did have some scratches on her face from where she fell, but he figured it would be much better to not say anything about them. He was sure that she was possible embarrassed by that and it was best not to touch such subjects. His body relaxing against the moist cavern wall and he watched the storm instead, not touching the subject of her possible injuries as he did not want to cause her any grief for not being careful. He went on to tell her about his life though, about the fun his brother and he use to have… But that was before they had grown up some, before his brother became jealous over the fact that he was to become pharaoh of the herd. It was something that one time didn’t matter and it had become something that did after a few years of life. His brother wanted the place as Pharaoh and the tension during everyday things were become something that would only cause problems with his sibling and family. The play had ended and life had begun… ”Oh Amen! You sly dog you. Did your dad ever find out?" A smile came to his darker colored maw and he glanced over at her. ”The problem with being the major herd in a land where all herds know each other… In a place where tradition is everything… Yes, my father found out and my brother and I, as well as the other young stallions who got involved, well we were all punished by the pharaoh of our herds…” He said to her as her remembered the times the herds spent together.
How the tradition of welcoming a new member into the herd was something all herds shared together. The tradition of picking the child nurse followed soon after. ”WHAT?! That seems harsh! To be asked to leave your family to start your own. I mean, it seems like you actually like you family. That’s really not to be taken granted on. Have you found a land to call your own yet?" He looked at her, chuckling at the way she sat there in her position. ”My father asked my brother and I… And I accepted… If my brother had, it would have only caused problems between things… My brother was… Jealous of me… It would have made it easier to give him the herd he wanted, then to make him go out and grow even more angrier at me.”
