Today I want to talk to you a little about this Black Friday and what I think can be done from an SME in these cases. Don't worry, I'm not going to give you a history lesson about its origin or all that stuff that you can already look up on Wikipedia. Here we come to see concrete ideas and put them into practice. But well, to put ourselves in situation, and in case someone has been living on the Moon for a hundred years, the important thing about Black Friday is the discounts . There's no more. Businesses are looking to liquidate their stocks , take advantage of the pre-Christmas season and remove as many products as they can from their stock. This implies very low prices, a perfect opportunity for clients... but perhaps not so much for an SME. Let me explain: as I say, the consumer comes to these dates looking for a bargain, a ridiculous price. Nor does he care about the store he shops at. These sales, with such a small (or even negative) margin, are very difficult to convert into regular customers of your business.
My opinion on Black Friday Considering the latter, you can imagine what my opinion is on this day. Or these days, this year Black Friday is on November 26 but there are companies that prepare offers for practically the en Chinese Overseas Asia Number Data tire month. And if you have noticed, all these companies are large multinationals with thousands of clients : Amazon, Media Markt, El Corte Inglés, Fnac... The thing is that all these companies share something: visibility. They can dedicate part of their resources to announcing with great fanfare that they will have a week of incredible discounts. They open their stores everywhere, they overexpose the customer and, finally, they are the ones that attract the most visits . An SME has the problem of having much less capacity to reach the general public . They play with the same idea, the same concept, but with much less power to reach consumers.
Black Friday benefits: can your business take advantage of them? As I say, this is my opinion about Black Friday , and below I will explain what I think are the best strategies for an SME. But if you want to take the plunge, do it right: Plan ahead Nothing like being prepared for any day marked on our clients' calendars. Warn ahead of time that there will be significant discounts , and leave everything ready so you don't get overwhelmed (so much) on those days. Check your available items It seems idiotic but, if the price goes down, more are sold. And if it sells more, you must have more stock. Don't forget about logistics This is related to the previous point. Don't forget that, if you sell online, you will have to get your products to customers in the best way. It is difficult to reach the discount levels offered by large platforms, but you establish what you consider appropriate. If you play a little with neuromarketing and micro copy , you will achieve a greater benefit.
