He had pulled them out from the rooms that once held the human disease… He had placed many of them there and it was enough for two horses to lay upon without any problem. He stood looking out a window, the corner broken from something that had been thrown after it was abandoned. Maybe a rock? Who knows… Felix was in no place to think about it… Ashes had been acting weird, acting to the point that she did not returned to the shelter home he had provided for her not far from the hospital. He wanted to find out what was going on and right now was the time to do it. Her duty had been halted until he had spoken to her, he wanted to know what was going on and also test her… She had been trying to become a royal guard and it was time that he did a little sparing with her, if she was up to it. He would not test her unless she was ready, he knew how to be fair, but he was not going to be so patient the second time he asked her… She had better be ready if he had to ask her again… Being a royal guard was no laughing matter… She would first travel with him, going with him on mission to other herd lands… And one day, she would guard his family… ”Where is she?” He asked himself as he thought over the recent happening that had started in spring. First, she had taken her first patrol and he had watched her become raped by another. It had caused anger in him, as he had just sent her out and another had taken advantage of her. Then, she rarely came around him and he could barely find her except on certain days… Finally, she had come back like normal, acting like normal, except she did not sleep in the building he had provided and it worried him. Did she had a stallion now that was not wanting to join the herd? Was she seeing a light? Such a thought brought anger to his eyes, however, he pushed the thought away as he heard what sounded like hooves coming up the marble stairs…

Burnt Ashes

The foals delivery was painful, no excruciating. But I had managed to survive, and the foal was as healthy as could be. I sighed as I heard Felix's call for me. I had tried to avoid the black stallion as much as possible during my pregnancy. I hadn't wanted him to think of me as weak and fragile, so I hid it. I whispered to Megabyte, Stay here. I will be back as soon as possible sweetie. Just promise you won't move ok. I walked off toward Felix's vocals after Megabyte had promised. He was only 3 weeks old yet he was of a medium stature. He would be a big fella when he grew up. But I planned on sending him off before Felix could meet him. I didn't know what Felix would think of him, and didn't want to know. I clambered up the marble stairs loudly. My hoof beats echoing all around me. Felix would surely hear me coming. Felix. It is I Burnt Ashes. Did you need me? I called out, standing just outside of the door leading to the room he was in. It was obvious what room he was in because his smell was the strongest there and his breathing could be heard very clearly.

I appeared in the doorway and walked towards him calmly. My bulging belly had slowly gone down and wasn't as noticeable now as it had been. I just hoped he wouldn't notice it. I didn't stare at him as that was disrespect and to earn my position I need to be as respectful as possible. No matter how much it frustrated me, because it just wasn't like me to submit so easily. But I quickly hid those emotions from Felix. I patiently awaited his answer, feeling his gaze roaming over my fit body.
