Powerful hooves dug into the earth as the young stallion charged into the forest, only he wasn't so young anymore. He had left his bachelor herd and made his way out on his own, ready to claim his own land and find his own mares and sire his own foals. It was time to grow up and stop acting like a foal and what better way than to make his mark upon his very own forest. That's right, his forest.
He came to a halt, his hooves sliding in the moist earth, the brown contrasting nicely against the bright green of the luscious grass as he slowed to a trot. Well...he was here...and no one else was...meaning he was alone. Was this it? Did he have to rear up dramatically and call out into the forest, just in case someone else wanted to challenge him? Nah, that wasn't necessary. He was a fully-fledged stallion now. He managed his own affairs. If anyone wanted to challenge him for what was rightfully his, they were going to have to come to him.
Still, he decided to be sure, just in case. Clearing his throat, he pawed the ground, and feeling increasingly foolish, he began to speak.
"I hereby claim this land as my own." He announced.
He stood there for a moment with baited breath, waiting, waiting. Waiting for the horrible stallion to appear, waiting for his dreams of being the guy in charge to be shattered, waiting for some feminist mare to kick his balls off.
Nothing whatsoever happened.
"Well, that was anti-climatic." He muttered.
