The air of the dawning day was brisk. The sky appeared as if it was holding its breath for too long, and its face was turning several different colors: from blue, to a light purple, and now to an auburn color that was bound to be the pitch darkness of the night before another hour had passed. The sun hardly looming over the horizon as it struggled to grasp onto anything to stay above before the moon arrived. The drip - drip of the excess water that took a plunge from the remaining roof of the cathedral was the only resonance that graced the terrain's presence at the moment. The ashen - hued female stood her ground, hooves subsiding on the concrete that nature and its disasters had worn down to pebbles and chunks of rocks. It was no longer quite the picturesque cathedral as it might have been beforehand of the disasters that had taken their tole on it. Time could only tell whether or not that it would restore to a decent state again, if the weather would go easy on it for a month or so to let the grass grow back in areas that it should. Moss growing up the side of the church building, and trampled flowers sprouted up from underneath the corners, like they were growing beneath almost. Although the cathedral was still in a mint condition, there was things here and there such as the concrete around it and the dead grass from the winter that must have been harsh on it before. The Gods' must've blessed this place countless times if it hadn't been demolished yet by the bellicose dark alliance.
The stain colored windows of the place had shown their beauty as the remaining sun had struck the colors just right. All different colors formed. Grimacing, as she took note of no Greek gods necessarily. It was saints from the Bible, that she hadn't really grown up on. Her mother had always told her that her religion was her own path, that nothing could be forced upon her or taken from her as long as she became a strong - willed female with a good head on her shoulders, and that's exactly what she had turned out to be. Wet, leftover footprints from all sorts of animals marred the ground inside of the cathedral. Foxes, rabbits, and a few hoof markings of what looked to be a deer or a buck - she couldn't quite stress the thought in her mind enough, and of course equines that surely had discovered the place before herself, perhaps. The land, she supposed, was fairly new. She hadn't seen too many equines loping around the place - either that or they were all reserved and liked to stay to their own capacities and keeping other equines away as much as they could. The ashen mare grinned, her lips spreading out as the corners quirked up in what would seem to be a sarcastic fashion, if others were around to take notes of her. Many, many were reserved around here and didn't like to converse about much before turning away if the wrong question was pondered on for too long. Someone didn't want someone to find out about something in particular. Pine colored eyes that skimmed every crevice of the cathedral before her hooves had found the audacity to move forth to discover inside of the holy architecture.
"Goddess Athena, give me wisdom and strength to save myself if need be." Her lips moved rapidly, glimpsing about her as she trekked inside the large building. Quite unsure, because you never know what obstacle the Gods and Goddesses were going to hurl your way. Testing your strength, testing to see if you were strong enough to survive in this world and if not, whatever that obstacle was would overcome you and hand you over if you were defeated. The world was a cruel place. Zeus could not do much to handle his minions as they waged war against one another. He could not stop the alliances that were forming below him, all he could do was watch with steady eyes and keep a keen eye on them that they did not harm the Earth that he had helped create. Many held malicious intent, without the paranoia of being caught, and such an innocent looking mare as herself, they would pounce. Their minds telling them that the female had no protection, which was a lie. Her brain swarmed with ideas that she could defend herself. One solid kick to the head was all it really took and she'd hightail out of there like the purebred blood that ran through her veins. Dear Adalain, please stay unharmed. She imagined her mother would say to her as she ventured inside of the cathedral, relief brushing through every bone as she realized she was yet the only individual that graced the building at the time being.

A lone bay stallion cantered across the land. Though summer had already begun, the land he was entering seemed rather desolate. Green grass sprouted as it should, but much of the ground was mud, and there were plenty of bare patches of ground. This was hardly noticeable to the stallion however, as he came to a stop in front of a vast cathedral. It's architecture was beautiful, and amazingly enough, it was hardly out of shape, even after the years without humans to care for it. With vast arches, and beautiful stain glass windows, depicting some stories of the once great human race's religion. The stallion hardly knew the stories, though he thought he recognized a couple from the words of rather religious horses he had met before. Personally, he had always thought the whole religion thing rather fanatical, if the petty humans of the past who had died out needed such a reassurance, fine. A breed as fine as the equine needed no such thing as the human's religions in his opinion. After all, who could rely on the ideals of a race that had long ago gone extinct? Obviously their gods couldn't save them from such a fate. No, Efigenio Agapito could take care of himself. He was a fine specimen of a thoroughbred, and with speed and grace he was sure he could out match any horse, without the help of some god.
He had not come here to ponder philosophy though. Actually, he hadn't really had much of a purpose other than to get out. It was nice living in a herd with shelter and protection, and he had been getting along quite while with his new king Felix Hell, but he was one he liked to be out and about. Staying put was definitely not one of his specialties. He would return of course, but for now he wanted to do a bit of traveling. Now, here he was, gawking at a building like some tourist. All that was left to do was enter, thus he proceeded to do just that.
Now, Genio was under the impression that this cathedral was quite abandoned, by all species, except perhaps some rats. So, imagine his surprise, and delight to find a fine white mare standing before him as he entered the building. She was gorgeous, a fine specimen of an Arabian if his observations were correct. A shame really, she would be an excellent lover. Genio intended to keep his lines as pure as possible though, and breeding such a mare would be a far cry from keeping his line pure. Still, he could enjoy her company for awhile. "Well, what do we have here?" He asked smoothly, stepping towards the mare. He hoped not to startle her, but that seemed rather unavoidable, as she probably assumed she was alone. So, he figured he might as well get it over with from the start. He was a charmer though, and he was sure all would be forgiven quite soon.

Silence was all the female had hoped for coming here, and alas it was granted. While in the midst of a war brewing between the two alliances, her mind had become clouded and distant. Detached from her own brain and flittering off into neverland. Perhaps this is what the ones' meant when they said 'I don't want to grow up'. Growing up was something more complex than any mind could handle, you didn't know what the next obstacle was going to be that you were going to have to overcome. Sharper than a whip, cracking at you and laughing at your failures. Metaphorically, that was. Life just downright sucked. No matter which side you chose; the angels, in which were either going to be chosen as slaves or death was their final penalty or the demonic, in which were going to serve a 'good' purpose for the opposite alliance or they'd vanish quicker than they came and not on their own decision. Ears relaxing on her skull as her lungs sucked in the light breeze that rolled through the cracks in the walls of the almost mint - conditioned cathedral and through the open doorway.
Her body ignored the warning of another approaching. The warning casting itself throughout the entirety of it, yet her brain was putting it off. Shushing it. Toning it down and making it stay like a minuscule dot in the back of her head. The odor wafting about, yet she hadn't quite caught it as her mind continued in deep thought. It was a stallion, her mind had told her that much and as if he appointed no danger to her whatsoever, she brushed it off of her shoulder. Eyes wandering along the crevices of the dark cathedral, the ragged points of statues and crosses that embellished the interior. She frowned, it was of a religion that she'd heard of but hadn't quite known because her mind, even as a child, was always opened to new philosophies and not just one in particular. Turning her head, as if on cue in answer to his words that he had spoken, her eyes caught a glimpse of the auburn - like color in her peripheral view.
Frightened in a way, as the feeling jolted through her. More than likely giving way to a slight 'jump' in her body as she twisted her entire body around, backing slightly. Her brain cackled at her, trying to tell her it had already warned her once - perhaps even twice, yet she was so engrossed of the interior of the cathedral, she hadn't paid close attention. 'Well, what do we have here?' His words echoed through her and struck a bad bone and she grimaced. "What do we have here, hmm? Perhaps a lady that, excuse my french, you just scared the shit out of."

As expected, the mare seemed quite startled be Efigenio's presence. At her words the stallion couldn't help but grin. "Feisty one are we?" He said teasingly.
Though his attention had been on the mare when he first entered, he now glanced around the inside of the building, and what a fine sight it was. For a moment he was distracted from the beauty in front of him and simply admired the glorious architecture of the building. Satisfied he'd seen every little nook and cranny he could, he returned to facing his companion. "Excuse my manners, I am Efigenio Agapito, most call me Genio and I sincerely apologize for frightening you." His voice, as usual, was smooth and laced with a charm only Efigenio possessed.
Eyeing the fine white mare, he smiled in a friendly manner and couldn't help but think what a wonderful thing it was that he had happened upon this place. He could use something to liven up his life a little bit, and although no doubt he would never see her again, a conversation with this mare could be entertaining.
