EPONA

Epona was in high spirits today. No particular reason really, she was just feeling good! She had lost track of the days that she had been on her own, but she didn't mind at all. This was all just a new adventure to her. She wasn't in a rush to find anywhere to stay, though if the opportunity came across, why not? Epona had left her previous herd, because she had known these other equines her entire life. She wanted a new experience! This journey, so far, had been great and she had no regrets about it. Yes, she would miss her mother and sister and of course the rest of the herd. Though she felt like the right thing to do. She felt trapped in that place.

The mare was at an easy canter, ducking in and out of the thick trees in the forest she had wondered upon. Forests had always seemed to appeal her. Epona stuck her nose high in the air and took it all in. The way it smelled, the way the light shown down through the trees, how it could be so quiet and peaceful. She gave a quick kick of her back heels, shook out her black mane and picked up her pace. The way the wind pulled her untamed mane back and whipped across her spotted face, always made her feel so much faster than she actually was. It wasn't much longer until she broke through the trees and galloped over an old, asphalt road. She pulled herself to a stop and headed back to gaze down the way. Grass grew up in almost every crack, and it was uneven in a lot of places. Walking slowly, she chose a direction. She had no idea where it lead, but why not find out?

A stallion was grazing in a small meadow there was deep gashes in his side and his flank the night before he had been chased by wolves and was lucky to be alive. The stallions name was Weighlin, he brought his head up looking at the mare and pricked his ears forward.
