Garnica has officially launched today the construction of its seventh factory in the Parc du Grand Troyes (France). The first phase of construction will end in mid-2021 and activity will begin at the factory with the creation of around 40 jobs. When the plant is at full capacity, 300 direct jobs will have been created with a global investment of 80 million euros. Today the first stone was laid in the construction works of the new Garnica plant in the Parc du Grand Troyes, in the Grand Est region (France). Pedro Garnica, president and founder of Garnica, Jean Rottner, president of the Grand Est region, François Baroin, president of Troyes Champagne Métropole and Sylvie Cendre, Secrétaire générale de la préfecture de l'Aube have participated in this event in the presence of the promoters and local actors of the project.
During today's event, a poplar tree was planted to symbolize the beginning of the construction of a factory in which wood from sustainable plantations will be produced. The factory will be built in several stages, the first of which will be operational in mid-2021 and will initially employ 40 people. It will be built in several phases: initially the unwinding line will be installed, followed by the drying lines Kyrgyzstan Email List to subsequently double the capacity and finally incorporate the pressing and manufacturing of finished products. It will have an area of 40,000 m2 and is located on a 20-hectare plot Garnica is a company specialized in the production of plywood panels and uses poplar wood from sustainably managed forests. The reason why the company has decided to install this factory in the northwest of France is because of its proximity to the extensive poplar plantations in the Seine and Aube valleys.
The launch of this new factory will be an incentive for private farmers and municipalities in the area and will contribute to its reforestation. Garnica, in fact, has been actively participating for two years in the Grand Est Plan aimed at promoting poplar cultivation in the region. The Spanish group chaired by Pedro Garnica was founded in 1941. This will be the seventh factory and the second in France, where it already has a plant in Samazan, in the New Aquitaine region, since 2010. In 2019, Garnica had a turnover of 230 million euros and exports its products to 45 countries. This new plant will contribute to the development of activity in the markets of Northern Europe and America.
