Tondeluna is a new gastronomic project opened in Logroño (La Rioja, Spain) by the couple Francis Paniego and Luisa Barrachina with the help of the Picado de Blas Architecture studio (Madrid, Spain). The material chosen for the construction, decoration and furniture of this project has played a very important role in it; Garnica plywood from the Fireshield family: boards made from sustainable wood that have the B-s1, d0 classification that certifies their exceptional fire resistance. In this way, Fireshield complies with the provisions of the Technical Building Code (CTE) which requires that ceiling and wall coverings have the B-s1, d0 classification and is, therefore, an ideal product frequently used in public establishments.
For us it was exciting to project this new restaurant concept that is positioned as the perfect example of a large number of applications of Garnica plywood: walls, ceiling, floor, furniture and decoration... even the menu is based on wood. poplar" explain the architects who chose the Garnica plywood board for its great possibilities. The formats used include pieces up to 3100 x 1830 mm and 50 mm thick and Peru Email List different finishes, both in varnished natural wood and with decorative HPL coatings in various colors. The fact of being able to work with XL size panels and different finishes opens up a wide range of possibilities for each project, both indoor and outdoor. The place has six large elongated tables matching the chairs, all of them facing the kitchen, made of plywood with a varnished natural finish.
The dining space is delimited by an abstract forest represented by vertical sheets of HPL-coated Fireshield plywood in bright colors. In the restaurant, Garnica plywood has also been used for the construction of a cozy laminated ceiling and a high-resistance floor prepared to withstand the movement of large numbers of people. Cabinets, shelves, bathroom furniture, interior and exterior doors of the premises are also made of plywood manufactured by Garnica. The sustainability of the project has been key from the beginning for both the architects and the owners of the restaurant: “We want it to be a 21st century restaurant, committed to our environment and our society, where the values we defend are not just a mere toast to the sun, but also that they see each other, touch each other and sit.” Francis Paniego says.
